Executive Leadership
Anupam Martins
Chief Executive Officer
Anupam Martins is the Chief Executive Officer and a Member of the Board of Directors of Excelligence Learning Corporation. Prior to joining Excelligence, Anupam worked at Procter & Gamble for ~20 years in a range of regional and global Marketing and General Management roles with assignments across five countries in Asia, Europe and North America, most recently as the CEO of an independent subsidiary company in Vermont.
Anupam has led Brand Building, Strategic Planning and P&L Responsibility across multiple brands, portfolios, geographies and organizations – from start-ups and joint ventures to billion-dollar brands like Vicks and Pampers. His business experiences span new business development, turnarounds, growth acceleration, and digital / Omni channel brand building, across developing and developed markets.
Anupam has a B. A. (Honors) in Economics from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University, India and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (MBA) from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, India. He is also actively involved in the non-profit K-12 school education sector in India in an honorary capacity.
Joseph Looney
Chief Financial Officer
Joseph Looney is the Chief Financial Officer of Excelligence. He joined the company from The Nature’s Bounty Co., Inc., a leading manufacturer and distributor of vitamins, minerals and nutritional supplements, were he served as Chief Accounting Officer and Vice President-Finance from 2006 to 2018.
Prior to that, Joe served in several CFO positions, including at EVCI Career College Holding Corp., a post-secondary education provider; Astrex, Inc., a distributor of electronic components; and Manchester Technologies, Inc., a network integrator and reseller of computer products. Early in his career he was at the accounting firm of KPMG LLP.
Joe is a Certified Public Accountant and has a B.A. from Queens College, City University of New York and an M.S. from Long Island University. In addition, he has served as an Adjunct Professor of Accounting and Business Law at Hofstra University.
Lee Ramsayer
Chief Executive Officer, Frog Street
Lee Ramsayer is Chief Executive Officer of Frog Street a leading provider of comprehensive early childhood education solutions to public schools, Head Start programs and child care centers, with a focus on children from birth to age 5. He joined Frog Street from the fast growing startup Everly Health where he was Executive Vice President, Enterprise Sales.
Prior to that, Lee spent 8 years as Executive Vice President, Global Sales at the education solution provider Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, as part of the leadership team that transformed this leading education textbook publisher into a global education technology provider of core, supplemental, and intervention content.
He has a B.S. in Mathematics and a minor in Computer Science from Muskingum University, and has completed post graduate studies at the University of Virginia and Johns Hopkins University. Lee is actively involved in educational non-profits including Innovate Educate, and the First Tee Foundation.
Ron Phelan
Chief Executive Officer,
Educational Products Inc
Ron Phelan is the Chief Executive Officer for Educational Products Inc (EPI) an industry standard in prepackaged and bulk school supply programs. Ron joined EPI in 1984 with a part time job, working his way up the ranks from Production Supervisor to Operations Manager all the way up to CEO.
Ron received his B.A. from the University of Texas in Finance and Management. Over the past 15 years Ron has spent his non-working hours being a mentor and coach for kids in all sporting activities.
Ross North
President, Children’s Factory
Ross is the President of Children’s Factory: a mainstay in learning spaces around the world with an extensive offering of Soft Play products, early-learning furniture, floor coverings, trikes, and multi-seat transportation. He joined Children’s Factory in 2021 to continue the over 125-year combined legacy their 3 brands offer.
Prior to joining Excelligence, Ross has been a leader in Operations and Engineering throughout his career in Fitness Equipment, Aerospace and Printing with a focus on growth, manufacturing, and customer experience.
He has a B.A in Mechanical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis and his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology. In addition, he serves on multiple local school committees and enjoys coaching youth sports.
